Proper Trash Container Placement for Residents
The City of Cypress takes pride in its overall appearance of its neighborhoods
and a one element to maintaining the aesthetics of
residential neighborhoods is through the regulation
of the placement of regular trash and recycle containers.
Residents are reminded
that the Cypress Municipal Code states that residents
should place their containers on streets or public
right-of-ways no sooner than 6 p.m. on the day
preceding the regularly scheduled collection and are
required to remove their containers from the street or
public right-of-ways before 6 a.m on the day following
the regularly scheduled collection.
Residents should also be
aware that containers shall be removed after collection
to a location on the property that is completely
screened from
the public right-of-way. This includes, but is not limited
to, placing containers behind a gate, fence, shrubs,
or within a garage.
If you are unable to store your containers behind
your gate because the containers are too large to fit
through the gate, you may consider replacing your 100-gallon
container with a smaller 65-gallon version. If you
would like to request a smaller trash or recycling
container, please call the City’s trash hauler
Briggeman Disposal at (800) 299-4898.
If you have
any questions regarding trash containers, or recycling,
please call the recycling coordinator at (714)
229-6680.
