On May 13, 2013, City Council awarded construction the Cerritos Avenue Widening, Public Works Project No. 81. The Public Works Department will begin working on the Cerritos Avenue Widening Project beginning January 13, 2014. The project provides for widening of the roadway, from Walker Street to Angela Avenue to add an additional eastbound through lane to increase the traffic capacity east of the Cerritos Avenue and Walker Street intersection.
The City of Cypress views this street widening project as an important Public Works project beneficial to the community. Your cooperation during all phases of construction will be necessary for the safe and successful completion of the project. The street widening will provide additional through capacity and gap closure along Cerritos Avenue. The work is tentatively scheduled to be completed in April 2014.
All parking restrictions will be posted 48-hours in advance and door hangers will be distributed to all affected residences and businesses. For your SAFETY and the safety of your family and visitors, please stay away from equipment and construction areas.
