In response to BRACE member requests, Mr. Sonne will continue and conclude the discussion of
"Staying Compliant & Competitive in 2012: What California Employers Need to Know About New Labor/Employment Laws"

Matthew M. Sonne is a labor and employment attorney with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton's Orange County office. He is fluent in Spanish, and litigates in multiple areas of employment law representing employers. Mr. Sonne defends against individual and class action lawsuits alleging violations of wage and hour laws, discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and other related claims. Mr. Sonne frequently lectures throughout the state of California on all areas of employment law, and is co-editor of the ALERT employment law newsletter published by Castle Publications.

Mr. Sonne graduated from Claremont McKenna College with Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude honors, and subsequently attended the University of Virginia School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sonne worked in the White House as a writer for President Bill Clinton. Mr. Sonne also worked for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
