Economic Development
Economic Development Overview
Business has its place in Cypress!

The City of Cypress has always been proud of providing the community with a high level of municipal services, commercial goods and services, and employment and housing opportunities that have resulted in a sense of community and a high quality of life. Economic development facilitates the creation and maintenance of this quality of life through a strong tax base and a healthy local economy.

Economic Development is not new to Cypress. Through years of master planning, Cypress has attracted major companies and corporations to its 800 acre business park. Many of these corporations have made Cypress their regional or national headquarters. Cypress' involvement in economic development is demonstrated by the development of over seven million square feet of business park uses since 1980.

A current revitalization effort is happening in the northern portion of the City along Lincoln Avenue. The Rediscover Lincoln project is a multifaceted effort involving physical improvements, land use policy decisions, economic development strategies and business retention and attraction efforts.

Finally, a proactive citywide business attraction, expansion and retention program is being developed and implemented.
