The
original Civic Center Redevelopment Project Area Plan
was approved by the Agency Board on July 12, 1982, at
which time four (4) project subareas were delineated.
On April 11, 1989, the Agency Board adopted an Amended
Redevelopment Plan adding approximately 158 gross acres
to the existing Plan. The increased land area consisted
of an abandoned petroleum products tank farm and ancillary

utilized as a petroleum tank farm and ancillary petroleum
heating facility. The entire tank farm facility was
demolished and the oily soil underwent clean up. The

with Sorrento Homes, a masterplanned, residential neighborhood
of 671 single-family residences.
